Meet the Mettle Makers - Charlotte Pelletier - Drizzle Chilli Oil
Growing up in France in a small village near Bordeaux and moving to Adelaide as a teen, luscious produce and decadent cuisine were always embedded in the world of Charlotte Pelletier. A community minded creative that holds a Masters of Architecture and specialises in construction project management and design whilst also being a natural social connecter through her love and talent for art, food, and wine.

Your products are SCRUMPTIOUS and you can taste the love for what you create in each bottle. Can you share a special memory linked to the experience of food.
The extravagant Christmas lunches Mum would cook up for my entire family. Think fois gras, smoked salmon, roast pigeon, duck fat potatoes, buche de Noël… classic French cuisine.
Was younger Charlotte always in the kitchen experimenting?
Growing up in rural France it's hard not to be obsessed with delicious food. We always grew our own veg, made our own pâté and jams. We also shopped at the cutest weekend markets chatting with the locals!
Where would we find you outside of the kitchen? What’s your favourite place to explore in South Australia and why?
Boutique Wineries - just like the wines they prouce they are all so individual in their style and character. I love how these little wineries are able to present their products with a deep understanding, love and respect of the region and the grapes. I have the same approach to my Drizzle Chilli Oil and the attention I pay to the details of each ingredient as well as the careful hand manufacturing.
Go-to comfort food?
Dumplings every Thursday- started with date nights at Plant 4 Bowden and now that my partner and I live together it's a home made dish featuring of course a generous drizzle of Drizzle Chilli Oil.
The definition of Mettle is to face adversity with spirit, resilience. Is there someone in your life that has inspired your with their Mettle to be the person that you are today?
My Mum - a single mum and my BFF. She used to be in catering and hospitality in a chateau in South West of France introducing overseas visitors to the joys of French Life.
Running a business can be tough and at times isolating. How do you stay connected to the local community and what gets you through challenging times?
Drizzle Chilli Oil is my side hustle really. I also work full-time in the Construction Industry. Another of my side hustles is running @openairpainting groups. I bring together lovely creative people in various picturesque locations around Adelaide to paint and maybe enjoy a glass of wine and a nibble.

What’s on the horizon for Drizzle?
I’m in contact with a food distributor for Tony& Marks and Foodland. I’m perfecting my bottles, the labelling and manufacturing in preparation to appearing on their shelves!
